Acceptance

By creating an account or using SkeinSmart, you agree to these Terms. If you disagree, do not use the service. You must be at least 13 years old to use SkeinSmart.

AI-generated content

SkeinSmart uses AI (Anthropic Claude) to identify yarn, suggest projects, and generate knitting and crochet patterns. AI outputs are suggestions only. AI-generated patterns may contain errors in stitch counts, shaping, or construction. Always review patterns before knitting. SkeinSmart is not responsible for errors in AI-generated content.

Yarn identification from photos is approximate. Fiber, weight, and needle size guesses may be incorrect. Confirm details against your yarn label before purchasing materials.

Accounts and access

  • You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.
  • Free accounts receive 25 lifetime AI uses. SkeinSmart Pro accounts receive up to 500 AI uses per day.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the service or violate these Terms.

Subscriptions and billing

  • SkeinSmart Pro is billed monthly at $4.99/month (price subject to change with 30 days notice).
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card is charged at the start of each billing period.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically. Cancel anytime from the Billing page to stop future charges. No refunds for partial periods.

Your content

You own the yarn data, patterns, and notes you create in SkeinSmart. You grant us a limited license to store and display that content to operate the service. We will not share your private content with other users without your permission.

Acceptable use

You may not use SkeinSmart to: violate any law; send spam or abuse AI quotas via automation; reverse-engineer or scrape the service; or attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' data.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

SkeinSmart is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Continued use of SkeinSmart after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
